Hey I was looking at some deals for a backpacking trip in January and saw that Sierra Trading Post had a 30 percent sitewide sale and if you spend over 100 bucks you get an additional 30$ off with the keycode: SITEHOT1214

Seems like a good deal. I was gonna buy some stuff and went to sleep to ponder before making the final click and found out some of the items I want sold out.

So, this is kind of standard Sierra trading post discounts….

Most of their products show a "discount" like 30% (meaning…"normal" sierra trading post price) and then you can add on a coupon. 30% is ok……though 40%s are not uncommon, and though I haven't seen it lately, they have in the past had some 40% with a $15 or $20 edeals card (store credit card) on $75, $100 orders, etc. Those would get some prices really down.

Aww ok. Thanks for the heads up. they seem to have the best deals compared to REI or other retailers.

They do have some great pricing…the problem is they don't usually have "the best" items. Its the perfect store if you are on a budget and don't care about having the latest and greatest.

I just ordered a pair of ski boots that were originally $700 which Sierra had for $400

They are doing some sales where they mark stuff down an additional percentage, so the boots were $300

Then I used a 35% coupon code I found online to get them to $180

Also I used my active junky account so I should get 9% cash back…

It's a great way to pick up discontinued products (like the Scarpa F1 boots I just got)

Yea sweet. I just bought all my base, mid, and shell layers for the winter through all their discontinued items. Some nice running shoes and socks. 350 after tax, saved about 500 from retail.
