As part of a "low carb" diet, I make coffee with ghee and coconut oil regularly. Fad or not, in my experience, it works. I can drink one cup in the morning and not need to eat until noon or later. Sometimes I add in vanilla, cocoa powder, heavy cream, or other flavors.
As it was mentioned, it makes a huge difference when you actually blend it together vs just mixing it up.

Thanks to DM, Greg, and Doug for the brand input. Looks like I've got some taste testing to do. I know, I know, it's a dirty job, but……… ;0)
Back when i use to make my own hot chocolate from scratch, i would sometimes add coconut milk (and/or goat milk). Great stuff. (Unfortunately, found out that if i eat too much chocolate, i get hives, so stopped making it. Interestingly, the less processed it is, the worse it's effects).
If i ever get to do the Brooks Range trip, i plan to mix extra virgin coconut oil with Garden of Life Perfect Meal powder as my main food. Desert would be EVCO mixed with coconut sugar.
Apparently i am koo-koo for coconut, or just plain koo-koo.
