Regarding the AirCore NANO Dyneema Guyline Cord Kit (50' of core and 12 tensioners).
What are the ideal lengths to cut for a poncho tarp like a Golite if I want two longer lengths for the ridgeline pole ends plus four lengths for the corners?
I'm thinking two at least 6 feet
and the other four at least 4 feet
Please share your thoughts
I'd make these longer, maybe 12 feet so you have the option of tieing them around trees.
If I recall I think I made 2 12 footers and six 4 footers (48 feet total) for mine. You do want another 12 foot length or so for tieing off the hood.
For my Gatewood Cape I use 3 feet lengths for the perimeter, which is over kill. I can always double over for 1 1/2 foot lengths for a lower pitch.
I think I read somewhere that Ryan uses between 2 and 3 feet lengths for tarp camping. And carries some shorter line (2 feet?) to extend a line if needed.
Edit: I also carry two 12 feet lengths for tieouts in high winds.
