Anybody else have this problem and/or hopefully a solution?
On my last two pairs of shoes (Montrail Continental Divides), the toe bumper started peeling off within the first 50-100 miles. I just picked up a pair of the inov-8 318's at the recent rei sale and after the first hike the same thing is starting to happen to them.
Most of my hikes are on rough rocky terain (NH White Mountains) and I do tend to bump and drag the front of the shoe over rocks a few times during a hike.
I tried applying shoe goo to the montrails, but couldn't get it to hold. Ideally, I like to find a way to prevent the problem instead of trying to repair the shoes after the fact.
