Few Qs, new to BPL

Graham, there is a really good thread under this heading for clothing combinations for hiking/backpacking, give it a look. There is stuff scattered all over this place, there is a thread on a synthetic parka for summer mountaineering under the mountaineering heading.
You might also try the search feature for quilts, I saw 2 pages with 69 hits on them for quilts.

Not sure what temps you are looking to hit with the 2 person quilt…

I have never used this particular quilt, but you'll get only positive reviews from myself and other members here who own and use nunatuk quilts and products.

Another source is JacksRBetter. I recently bought two, a single and a double. Excellent quality.

Two people under one quilt is an EXCELLENT idea – much warmer than one person under the same quilt.

Also, is the Granite Gear Virga a good pack to get? Or should I save myself $110 and get 2 Jardine kits? I checked out Jacks and the Nuna place, WAYYYYY out of my budget ;-)

While the virga pack is good, it may be wise to take a long look through all the reviews posted on BPL in the review section. I would think that almost every UL pack is in there. Afterwards, search for the packs that interest you the most on the net…then, you can ask more specific questions regarding which pack you may be interested in.
You will find that most people here have purchased a number of packs to get to the style/size/options that they like…then there is what type of trip you are using the pack for-which may or may not influence your choice.
ie: My 5 day summer pack is smaller and lighter then my 1 night winter pack.
On a IMO note, I have found that Panel loading and hip belt pockets are an absolute must for a pack. So, for me, the Virga is not a good pack…but the "07' SMD Essence" is stellar…which reminds me, I should post a review of it.
