I picked up a new REI Co Op down jacket today while I was in the store returning something. I am really liking it. The fit is more athletic than Patagonia or Mountain Hardwear but was roomy enough to fit a nano puff underneath while wearing a dress shirt and an undershirt (I stopped in on the way home from work). It looks like its a fantastic jacket. You can't beat the price either; with the 20% member discount they are currently running it was $86.90. The size medium I bought was 10.45 ounces on my kitchen scale not the lightest but I won't complain at this price. It'll make a good around town jacket for the mountains here in Arizona this winter.

They are nice. I just wish there was a hooded version as well.

I think the use of 650 fill power down is very smart here. When you are only putting a few ounces of down into a jacket anyway, then the weight difference between 650fp and 800-900fp is pretty miniscule.

Yeah I was hoping for the same thing. Maybe next year if they get enough feedback. I was just super surprised by them. I've tried out other cheap down jackets and they were crap compared to this one. These even had the exact same YKK zippers as the Patagonia down sweater. The REI near me was pretty well cleaned out of them when I was there. It's nice that they come in 7 colors too.
