Not being a climber but having B-C
skiied at 11,000' and hiked/scrambled to 12,000
I've found something that helps me. It's GNC's NO2, which is timed release L-Arginine.
L-Arginine helps stimulate the creation of nitric oxide which, in turn, dialates capillaries.
I've used it for years for weight training and in 2004 found it really helped in light and fast hikes in the mountains and in Tele skiing at altitude. (For those who haven't experienced Tele skiing, it's quite aerobic).
Have any mountaineers used NO2 for increased O2 uptake at altitude?
I've heard that some experienced climbers have used Viagara above 18,000 feet. NO2 is like a "mild" Viagara in its vasodialation effects but it lasts for 8 hours W/ its time-release micro encapsulations.

P.S.
Of course there's always "36 hour Cialis" for those worried about Climber's ED. (Elevation Disability) Hee,hee
