Hey guys, I was curious as to which loop you would recommend. We'll be choosing one of the loops that Hiking Jim posted (hoping he'll chime in). My girlfriend and i are heading out next week and would like oppinions on the loops. We're looking for water crossings and forest/meadow style hiking. The Grenelle loop looked good, as well as the south fork and momyer falls loop. We're looking for an easy going/easy'ish loop to take, with water and forests along the way (we just did the trans catalina trail and are over semi arid desert environments lol plus we're in the anza borego desert on our sectioning of the pct) we're headed out next monday night so any and all comments are welcomed.

Anybody?
Hi, Zack,
I don’t usually get on-line much on the weekend. There are trails out there calling my name, you know. :)
The South Fork Loop won’t have much water on it once you leave the S Fork area. I might pick something else this year.
The Grinnell Loop will have water in places along Fish Creek. That might be a better choice, but the middle section will be dry. Do you know where you want to camp yet? How many days will you be out? It could be made to work depending on what you want to do.
Momyer – Falls might work pretty well. The whole Falls Creek area is pretty good for water considering that this is a drought year. The Momyer Creek Trail does not have water, but there’s water at the top at Trail Fork Springs which is also an authorized camp site.
Thanks Jim! We're going tomorrow for an overnight taking the momyer falls loop staying at dobbs creek camp. We are beginning to have concerns about trail conditions because we keep reading its extremely difficult to follow. Any tips or disclaimers we should be aware of?
I didn’t think it was that bad. There’s a sign at the junction where the Alger Creek Trail splits off. The trail is a little faint as you go up the ridge, but it’s followable. The trail splits in a few places, but you can generally tell which is the main tread — and the split off trails usually return to the main trail. Bring your topo map and keep your eyes open. You’ll do fine.
Dobbs is a nice spot to camp and guaranteed water. We should have good weather. I think you’ll enjoy it.
