Had to bail on an AT section hike due to high snowfall. Planning to do a 60 mile loop of the DRT and AT tomorrow. Anyone done this recently? Any notes on water availability?

But I did the Georgia loop as a very long (57mile) day hike in the spring of '11. The DRt trail is very dry though you may find water if you go off trail a bit. the AT has water in several places. There is a nice spring on a side trail just NE of Woody Gap. One last thing, the DRT is one of the toughest trails I have ever hiked.

I will second that. I have done the loop before and just the DRT last in 2010. It was a dry tough trail. I have a trail guide for it somewhere in PDF I can send you if you need it.
