I was wondering if anyone made anything like a cuben Shangri-La 3. The Lone Peak by Ruta Locura looks like the closest thing. I don't like the amount of stakes it takes to pitch and it looks like it may be more tricky to get a good pitch than a Shangri-La 3. I like mids, but it seems like a teepee shape would be even better at shedding wind. I like the size of the Shangri-La 3 but don't like the weight. I appreciate any thoughts or comments on this.

Ryan Smith made a cuben hex pyramid tarp for someone here (you could see if he'd make you one – I don't know how he works):

If you sew, you can make one yourself. I made one in Argon silnylon and provide some details here:

The stock SL3 tarp weighs around 23 oz. If you remove the 3 peak vents (unnecessary IMO) and replace the heavy webbing tie-outs with some linelocs, I think you could get it down to 20 oz.

I forgot – Locus Gear makes the Apollo, an 8-sided pyramid tarp. Their website only lists it in tyvek, but maybe they could make it in cuben or sil
