Tall floks – Where to get gear?

good luck. I wear 30×34's and have a hard time finding pants myself. I can't imagine looking for your size!

i heard capri pants were in style (32" inseam):)

if you knew someone that was good at sewing, you could make pants from thru-hiker with 1.9 teflon nylon and buy some WP/B stuff elsewhere. thru-hiker pants pattern allows for very long inseams

I'm same height as you – 6'3" and manage with most 34" lengths which are usually available (but a 33" is no good, I push it to the limit;). You've go some long legs(or you where your pants really high). I've never even heard of pants being made a standard 38" in length – except at a specialty shop.
That being said, i typically like my hiking pants to be a bit shorter on me. Doesn't earn me any fashion awards, but it keeps the cuff from dragging.
Years ago, I cut the lower 6 inches of my pant leg and sewed on a waterproof section in an attempt to create a UL integrated gaiter – looked pretty bad and didn't work too well, but if you did that properly (not waterproof) and just added 4 inches to a 34" pant, it could look fairly decent. Just a thought.

REI has zip offs with 36" inseams. My jeans have a 37" inseam but they're tight and girly, so 36" works in a looser pant for me.

Thanks everyone for their input. I ordered a couple pairs from REI. Am I sensing a market opening here? Anyone good at sewing? We could use some tall clothing and tents.

Although the link is already listed above, I will point out again that beyondfleece will make custom clothing for you, as big and as tall as you need based on your actual measurements. They don't offer rain gear, but can do light weight trail pants and jackets and shirts. Their prices are very competitive, about the same as off the shelf for many items.

One of my friends is 6'8", needless to say he has some issues with normal clothing. He is very happy with the quality and service rom Beyond Fleece.
