BushBuddy stove screen

I don't own one, but i've taken the liberty of sketching what I believe you're describing (fear my mad MSpaint skills…), if this is accurate, it's probably somewhat feasible.

You may want to hook the screen 'in' a bit a the top, and maybe lay something down on the ground if you really want to contain sparks…

I have used the BB on one trip and never had one spark fly out. As a matter of fact it is probably safer than an alcohol stove alone. The bottom of it was only luke-warm to the touch and I really could hold it in the palm of my hand. (don't try this with the pot of boiling water on it!)

It is my opinion that the Bushbuddy Ultra performs better when a slight breeze is allowed to blow into and through the stove's firebox. A screen designed to keep sparks from flying out would also inhibit air circulation in.

As it is a wood burning stove sparks flying from the stove are a problem and one must exercise caution during dry spells. This includes placing the stove within an existing fire ring, using the stove near a water source or within the confines of an area lacking in vegetation. I often use my Bushbuddy along the side of gravel roads for example.
