My friend and I are planning a quick 2-Night/3-Day trip in Kings Canyon. The current trail conditions state "expect snow above 10,000 feet" the summit is at 10,730 feet and is 20 miles round-trip.
Although we have never done winter backpacking our previous (and first) backpacking trip we did the Rae Lakes Loop (43miles) in 72 hours. That trip was in the early spring and involved quite a bit of post-holing.
Has anyone done this trail in early November?
Any alternatives or suggestions welcomed!
