I hammock most of the time, but do go to ground occasionally depending on who I am with. I have a BA Double Z Air pad that is great in the warmer weather, it is really comfy for me.

But here is my question. Can I add an mylar space blackout underneath to increase the warmth when it is gets cold (35-40 degrees or so)? I do not want to invest in another pad since I go to ground maybe 5 times a year. I would prefer to not carry an additional CCF pad. I carry a mylar blanket on my hikes anyway.

I was looking at some other threads similar to this, but find it time consuming to read all the posts (all the while enlightening) when many of them start going into the thermodynamics of the situation.

I have an overnight the 2nd week in Nov in the NE and will be on ground. I am predicting overnight temps in the high 30's.

In your opinion would this add any good to the warmth?
