I see posts at times about Aussies and NZers trying to source some bit of USA gear but getting stymied by excessive ecommerce or shipping costs (something we Alaskans can relate to) and I have twice bought something USA website-to-USA-address and then shipped it across the Pacific via US Mail for a fellow BPLer.

Anyway, my family is backpacking Milford Sound and Abel Tasman NP this December so if someone wanted something brought to NZ and mailed domestically (from Auckland (passing through for a day), Christchurch, Nelson, etc), let me know.

That's a really neat offer, David. Let me know when you're coming to Turkey ;)

UL meets cloak and dagger!

Scene 1 –

A mysterious man carrying a briefcase walks through a NZ park on a warm day. He approaches another man sitting on a bench. Without waiting for an invitation, he sits down on the bench strategically placing the briefcase between them.

Mysterious David: I hear esbit smells like strawberries in New Zealand.

Other dude: Aluminized cuben fiber is bull$#!+.

David: Grizzlies have been known to not attack hikers in the Sierras.

Other dude: Mids are great but I prefer UL geodesic shelters.

David looks around one last time before completing the transaction.

David whispers: This new Zpacks prototype should serve you well. Good luck.

Other dude: Stay thirsty my friend.

Customs: Are you carrying packages for other people?

David: Yes, a cuben…

(but is it legal to take the cigars *out* of the U.S.?)

@William –

Apologies. We were in Turkey in June. Had David posted this back in May, I would have offered. I'm not naturally kind and giving enough to come up with such an offer on my own.
