I've been compiling shelter options for a friend and decided to extend the audience and ask for your add'l input.

The criteria is: contains a floor and bug enclosure. (If you want to expand that to tarp-only, bivy, etc, save-as and expand separately or add to the bottom). Make/model/weight/cost/link.

Its separated into tent-like and tarp-like and then 1-person and 2-person.

Stated weights and price without tax/shipping. No limit on price, but shelters above 40oz single/ 60oz double aren't relevant to most of us. If the info is available, stakes, poles and extra footprint should NOT be included for tarp type tents. We all have our favorite stake.

If this work exists elsewhere, please link me.

Thanks for stopping in. I'd love to see it get populated further, add your favorite shelter!

Do all the parts (tarp, floor, netting) need to be integrated or can they be separate? Or either?

I have a similar spreadsheet for myself and will be happy to add ideas if it doesn't foul up your format.

Separate-able parts are fine, encouraged!

Just add the weights/costs together (see my Gatewood and MLD Solomid +net entries).

The idea is that you're comparing apples-apples in a single number as you read down.

I added a couple of rows for ZPacks 1-person options, in purple cell shading. I also added in the cost of stakes — ZPacks website gives you the total bottom line weight including stakes but they're not included in the tarp/tent pricing.

I have a frankenshelter idea but it's hard to fit all the info into your format. I'll figure it out later.

Hi guys. I have compiled an database of shelters as well, though different format from yours. It’s interactive so you can see for example, shelters that sleep 2 with a single wall and weighing 16-24 ounces. The results can be sorted by weight, cost, whatever…

Feel free to use any info you find if it’s helpful to your spreadsheet. I may browse yours to update mine also… been awhile since I’ve made any updates :)

Thanks for the links! I added those to the top so-as-to not re-duplicate others' work.
