I did sell my old sleeping bad with pad, which give me a little freedom to review some of stuff I have.

I tried to follow a stratgy suggested by Katherine, which is to start from zero, and start adding what I need. So far I replaced ( sleeping pad, bag, backpack, tent) and I saved 7.15 pounds. ( I was 12.99, now I am 5.8).

I want to review my winter clothing system, and I will be greatful for any hint or suggestion.
This system I used for summer trips in Montana, and a couple, three days trips in oregon in winter.
I was satisfied with its performance. This Year I might push the limit a little bit and backpack in Colorado in winter, Late Dec, early Jan.
So I want to see what I need to keep in my mind for my winter clothing system

TOP
0- SmartWool NTS Micro 150 T-Shirt – Short-Sleeve
1- Mountain Hardwear Microchill Fleece Zip T Pullover
2- Arc'teryx Cerium LT Down Jacket
3- OR Exped Transonic Jacket – GORETEX OUTER SHELL.
4- Patagonia Lined Beanie
5- Scarpa Midweight Glove Liner
6- Marmot Ultimate Ski Glove
7- SmartWool Neck Gaiter

Bottom

1- SmartWool Hiking Liner Crew Sock
2-SmartWool Hiking Light Crew Socks
3- Salomon Snowboards Quest 4D GTX Hiking boot
4- SmartWool NTS Lightweight Bottom
5- Marmot Minimalist Pant- Water, windproof.

Now this is what I will be wearing. Now I need to to add some stuff in case something gets wet, but I would wait untill I see your suggestions to improve this.

I am looking at Men's Bitterroot Water Repellent Down Jacket from GoLite, as another jacket to be carried with me along the Arc'teryx down jacket. Is it good for hard winter?

By the way, I know some of my stuff might not be the best thing for a light backpacker, but I am still in process of adjusting my gear list.

Thanks to all of you in advance.

Looks pretty good to me. I'd add a windshell of some kind, and look into a lighter pair of shoes for summer. The Quests are a good boot, but the height and GTX is likely not necessary much of the time. A good winter option though.

A jacket like the Bitterroot, sized up to go over your Cerium, would work well for serious winter.

Thanks David.
For summer indeed I have a light shoes to hike with.

Might want some pants! Baselayer under a shell isn't necessarily a bad thing, sometimes, but they won't be very warm in camp. I like the Marmot Scree.

Waterproof gaiters are really nice to have in snow. The lower half of my pants are soaked without them. They also keep your legs and feet warmer.

Unless you want to be in your sleeping bag at all times when in camp, some light puffy pants just for camp are great.
