I'm a stomach sleeper, and have been using the non-UL version of the exped pillow about 2/3 inflated with a buff into which I stuff some clothing. Any more inflated and I find the contours of the exped that make it great for back and side sleepers make it awkward for me. I'm thinking of trying the Klymit X or some other more flat version and the buff or some other sack. did read Ryan's review, but am still unsure what my next choice should be. Any thoughts from stomach sleepers?

I've found the best pillow is my stuff sack with whatever clothing is currently unworn in it. Its adjustable based on how much clothing you put in. Also saves the weight of a pillow. Nothing wrong with using your extra down or synthetic jacket either. Easy, free, and UL.

Not to be contrarian, but having extra down and clothing in your kit isn't exactly UL.

Doesn't mean it's not smart to have extra/redundant gear but I never seem to have extra clothing personally. My down layers and even my rain gear are part of my sleep system. The only extra clothing is generally wet socks.

As an occasional stomach sleeper I have had some success stuffing 2 water bottles into a stuff sack and placing it just off the top edge of whatever sleeping mat I am using. Perfect height for stomach sleeping on at thick inflatable, less perfect but workable when on CCF. I recently read about someone folding under the top edge of their mat to gain some extra pillow-like thickness. I intend to try that soon, but for now my preferred method is to hike until I'm so tired it no longer matters. LOL.

I have my pack weight below 10 lbs, so I decided to treat myself to a pillow. I use the coccoon hyperlight pillow and I love it! I am a back/side/stomach sleeper and this has quickly become a valuable piece of my sleep system. I usually just under inflate it. I also use a mini pillow case as a stuff sack for my sleeping clothes, I put the pillow in there and walaaa. I'm ready for a good night's sleep. My only extra clothes would be my shorts/pants from hiking during the day..which I may also use in the pillow case if I'm not needing to wear them to sleep. I keep the cocoon hyperlight in the outer pocket of my pack so if I decide to stop for a nap or rest during the day, I can easily access it without digging thru my pack. I do love it very much.
