I've been looking at hooded wool baselayers.
The ibex indie and the icebreaker oasis hoodie look very similar.
Anyone have experience with these? Which is the better option?

i absolutely love my ibex indie hoodies. flat out the most worn piece of clothing i own over the last 4 yrs.

of the two i originally bought 4yrs ago, i lost one and the other is still serviceable, but the wrist cuffs are bit chewed up. granted, i've abused them, wearing them riding bikes and while working.

My girlfriend recently bought me a new once since she was tired of the worn wrists of my old one, but it still gets worn.

It took at least three years for the cuffs to start showing wear.

I've an older, heavier icebreaker piece that is nice, but the cut/fit isn't nearly the same quality as the ibex.

I'm also an Indie fan. It is the most comfortable wool piece I own (compared to icebreaker and smart wool). I've been using the same alligator green hoodie for all fall, winter, and spring trips in the past 5 years. It has a single patched hole where I snagged it, but otherwise still looks new.

The INDIE is very nice, I like mine also.I own several Icebreaker and Ibex pieces they are both well made, I don’t have the Icebreaker Hoodie so I can’t comment on that particular piece. The Indie happens to be on sale for $79.99 in green, blue and red in all sizes if that makes any difference to you.

can't comment on the Oasis, but can on the Indie- very nice mid-layer for cool to cold endeavors, fit is nice, like the hood, like the thumb holes, very soft and comfy, warm even when damp- just bought an orange one for hunting season, now I've got two :)

I actually just bought an indie off of Dan, good timing.
Thanks for the input!
