Are they only sending these sale offers to me because I've been buying so much stuff? Or are you guys getting it?

An additional 35% off? 40% off?

I got an Icebreaker tshirt for $24. Got some smartwool ski socks for $8. Goretex gloves for $19.

Go check it out. Like their Facebook page and you'll get in on the action.

sorry John, but you're not that special.

you can actually sign up to receive these offers without ever having bought anything.
sometimes I get 2 special offers a day, bit of a pain.

Also, on their webpage, under the banner that says "Sierra Trading Post", there is almost always a "30% off orders over $75, use key code SITEMAP014 during checkout" or 40% off orders over $100, etc. They change a bit from day to day. If you're not in a hurry, their shopping cart holds your stuff for many, many days and you could check back until you see one of the higher-discount or lower total-purchase options. Sometimes they offer 30-35% off with no minimum purchase. Those tend to be via their emails or Facebook updates.

What I do is load my shopping cart up… then wait to get emails with "special offers". I then click on the link for that specific offer and it tallies up the total based on that particular offer.

Then, sometimes within a few hours I'll get a different "special" and I'll repeat the process.

This way I can see which offer gives me the best price on what's in my cart.

My last order was for $104 worth of socks. I waited a day or so and got them for $88 because a newer, better offer came along.

What I do is use the keycode in the emails, but first I clear my cookies and cache… log into active junky and access STP through them. This saves me 5-10%. Then I put my keycode into the shopping cart.

here is my invite to activejunky. Full disclosure, I get $5 to fuel my gear addiction if you sign up under this link. Use it if you want, or just go to the site. Great resource for those who NEED more gear.
