Does Climashield need stabilization with double quilt or can you just sew the perimeter of the bag and not have a lot of seams? I noticed in some stores some bags have the usual horizontal seams offset quilt look and there are a few that look seamless and only appear anyhow to have seams running around the edges of the bag.

Most (all?) cottage gear makers just sew the perimeter of "continuous filament" insulation like Climashield. That has worked well in my MYOG quilts, although mine shaped quilts, not flat and are 3 large panels rather than 1 much larger panel.

"Short staple" insulation (like Primaloft) do require stabilizing quilting … Pl/1 much more aggressively than PL/Sport

Maybe Apex requires less stabalization than regular Climashield?

I've just sewn around the perimeter and it seemed to work. I think I did that with Primaloft Sport too. I've only used Primaloft One a little but yeah, that probably requires more.

It seems most (both MYOG and Cottage) just sew the perimeter. I don't have a lot of miles on mine, but so far, so good.

which flavour is the 'regular' climashield? ;)

I Made a quilt from Climashield xp around 5 years ago. I initially used stabilising loops a la Rayway Quilt. Many of them snapped! (despite using Ray's wonderful thread). So, my quilt ended up just sewn at the perimeter. It's still fine….
