I came across the below company, which makes shoes out of Tyvek. I'm somewhat surprised that they (apparently) haven't been mentioned here before. Currently there are two models, but no trail runners. They are made out of Tyvek 1085D, but I didn't see any weight specs on the website.

I like the idea as Tyvek is, of course, water resistant, breathable, and light. However, I wonder how Tyvek would hold up over several hundred miles of tough terrain. Also, I wonder how breathable the shoes would be compared to the mesh of most trail runners.

Anyone have experience with these (or other Tyvek) shoes? Or, is anyone game for trying a pair and share your thoughts on here?

I am sure they would last at least 100 m (that's metres, not miles).

Cheers
