leave the ecig behind and grab a pack of camel wides. That way your lighter can serve as dual use. It can start a cook fire or light a cigarette. Then when you're done with your trip don't smoke cigarettes anymore. Then cigarettes can be like a motivating force to go explore the wilderness.

18650s are not compatible with AA size or output.

Some aa lights can take a 14500 battery but that is the relative li-ion pair for a AA.

Then don't get a headlamp that matches the e-cig batteries. If you do, you are leaving yourself a mental back door to not quit the e-cig (and deep down you know that). Quit before your trip, get the headlamp that suits your needs and not your e-cig's.
