I start a hike down Nankoweap on Sept. 23 and need a ride to Point Imperial on the 22nd.
(Reasonable compensation, of course.)

Does anyone have a North Rim contact who might be able help with arrangements?

Thanks.

There's a Grand Canyon group on Yahoo Groups that might be able to help.
It's a little annoying, though – apparently they had some unpleasantness at some point in the past, and their way of handling this is that new registrants' posts get moderated for some undefined period, and may not appear for hours or days. I gave up on trying to post there because of this, but for a one-off question you may get some help, there are some good people on there.

Ralph – to many hoops for registration…. I'm not real excited about giving google my cell number.

Nankoweap is great fun! I've enjoyed two trips there, and boy, the trail is a lot easier now than it used to be.

Here's a suggestion that might be worth a shot for your ride: Call up one of the motels on the AZ Strip (there are only 3 — Cliffdwellers, Vermillion Cliffs, and Marble Canyon Lodge) and ask them if they could suggest someone you could hire. The workers there are pretty isolated, they're not making a ton of money, and they might be up for making a few quick bucks. (I guess if the Strip motels come up empty, you could try the same thing with the motel at Jacob Lake…)

They are all far away.

I'm hoping to find a Park volunteer, or seasonal, or camper willing to drive the 20 mile round trip.

But, thanks for the ideas.
The search continues.

If you can't find a lift inside the park, consider accessing the trail via Buffalo Ranch Road (off of Rte 89A) — that's why I was suggesting you contact the hotels on the AZ Strip. It's a relatively easy approach hike over Saddle Mountain to the junction with the Nankoweap trail.

I'm envious — it's a very fun trip! :^)
