This is kind of a cross post, nonetheless, I feel it belongs here in the Post Trip Reports. Andrew beat Brett Maune’s Unsupported time on the John Muir Trail. He posted a trip report on his blog. I know this is not for everyone, but, some of you may enjoy.
Thrilling read and great descriptions of the pain/emotions involved in such an endeavor. Any more pics that Andy could add? Thanks for posting!

Every record attempt in recent memory has had the wheels fall off the wagon nearing Reds. Sounds like a moderate pace at the beginning and that unplanned bit of extra sleep were just enough to prevent that from happening for Andy. I think most of the prominent folks who have gone for Brett's mark recently were more than physically capable of doing so, they just didn't play error-free.
