Sharing some photos I have put up from a mild 23 mile loop in the South San Juan Wilderness of Colorado. This area is remote and stunning in every way. Saw virtually no one else on Labor Day weekend!!. Don't have time for a lot of writeup at the moment but thought you might enjoy some photos from this infrequently visited area. The loop is made up of the following segments

1] Southern side of the South Fork of the Conejos Trail #724
2] Western and Northern side is the Rincon trail #722
3] North and Eastern side is the Roaring Gulch trail # 720

Some small sections of the Roaring Gulch trail were hard to follow due to some downed trees. My GPS really helped keep on track in that section.

Great pics Randy. You're a braver man than I heading down on Labor Day weekend!

About 20 years ago, I took a trip with my parents to see some land in Colorado. We drove in ther truck and we stopped along the way and slept in their open lumber trailer. One stop in particular I remember very well, for it had wonderful trout fishing, gorgeous aspen groves, and large grassy meadows for me to wander in all day alone without seeing anyone.

That place was the Conejos river. I had forgotten the name of the place and so I could not ask about it or look it up, I just couldnt remember what it was called all these years…until now.

Thanks for the walk down memory lane. it's exactly as i remember it.(insert heart emogy here)
