I will be going by a Costco in a few eeks and there seem to be some pretty great stuff there from different posts I have seen over the last few years. What is out in the stores right now that I should be looking at?

I'm a big guy and just purchased, for $19.99 each, a nice down vest and a softshell jacket. The softshell isn't super light (I haven't weighed it yet), but for less than $20 it was a steal.

Your challenge will be product availability…I bought my vest 3 weeks ago and they no longer have any. Good luck!

Wander all the aisles and you'll be able to fill your cart with all kinds of things you don't really need.

As Kevin said, if you see something at Costco you like…BUY IT! Otherwise they will sell out.

Items I use from Costco:

Softshell. Rarely use it for outdoor recreatoion anymore, but it ended up being a good, all around town jacket for those cool to moderately cold Colorado days with light precip.

Wool socks: Kirkland brand smartwool clones. Again, for town use as much as anything.

Paradox brand thermal tops and bottoms: Good price and has worked well enough this past year for three season use

Down vest: Wore it a decent amount this year when it was a weird Colorado year (very wet but warm). A 100 wt fleece pull over with the down vest was a versatile system for July and the early part of August.

Coscto also sells Paradox rain shells, balaclavas, wool beanies and other items that I have not used personally.

I get my Lara Bars, raw almonds, and whatnot from them. I also stock up on Ibuprofen.

They have a decent beginners dehydrator there for $40. I'll probably upgrade later this year but so far it has served me well.

I just walk around Costco and eat the samples. It's pretty much a meal. Then, I get the slice a pizza and mocha freeze.
