I tried the GG NightLite pad, and then the next weekend with a supplemental pad underneath – and I still can't get a good night's rest. So…

I forget exactly what the R-Value means, but I was surprised to see that the Torsolite had a value of 3.5 and the REI pad a value of 3.1. The Torsolite is 1" thick and the REI 1.5". How does that work?

I have an REI pad – and it is luxury. It comes with quite a weight cost though. (18oz vs 10oz) Is the Torsolite just as comfortable? Anyone here used both?

From Wikipedia:
– "The R-value is a measure of thermal resistance used in heat transfer problems."
– "R-values can be calculated from thermal conductivity, k, and the thickness of the material, t: R = t/k."

So R-Value doesn't really state how comfortable or "cushy" a pad is right? It sounds like Bozeman is using a better insulating material that is thinner. So… am I safe to assume the REI pad is more "luxurious"?
