My father had two lights at home that fit together nicely to create a light and super cheap little lantern. Light source is the Nano Streamlight which weighs in at 0.4oz w/clip. The diffuser comes from a Energizer 3-in-1 glow stick (0.5oz).
The Nano seats right into the diffuser. A little epoxy and it’s a permanent fixture. I like a little camp light at night time and the “milk jug” diffuser I made for my head lamp just wasn’t cutting it for lantern duty. My milk diffuser is 0.4 oz, so this weighs a little more (I mean we’re talking fractions of an ounce here), but it’s hella brighter and can double as a back up light source.
The price for replacement batteries for the nano seems negligible since the thing was only $5. Makes it disposable to me.
Apologies if these pics don’t work. The uploader is not playing nice with chrome.
