A quick question for the Australians among us (or anyone who has done the Tasmania Overland Track). I've read that only "fuel stoves" are permitted. Does this mean only canister/white gas stoves or are alcohol stoves also acceptable?

Alcohol stoves are fine to use, methylated spirits or metho is the local term and Trangias are still a popular stove choice.

That means no wood fires. Please heed.
Mind you, trying to find dry wood there in the rainforest sometimes is impossible anyhow.
