We have a new quilt coming to market that is geared for more traditional backpacking using a pad. I'll be doing some field testing this month in the Sawtooth Range finalizing fit. In the mean time Appalachian Trials is raffling the first one available to the public. You can find out more details on the raffle as well as new quilt at the following address.

GOOD LUCK if you choose to enter the raffle and keep your eyes open for the release of the RENEGADE….

Awesome! Entered…..interesting looking quilt though I don't see mention of how the quilt is attaching to the quilt…..

Anyway, I'm in Boise so I try to go to the sawtooths/white clouds as often as possible. What part are you hitting?

Hi John, We are still trip planning but looking at Pettit Lake TH and looping out from there for 5-6 days. First trip to the area and any recommendations would be appreciated. Been trying to get to Saw Tooths for about a decade and looks like it finally will happen… WOOT!!!!!

Yep….just last year I did the alice/toxaway loop with my 6 year old starting at Pettit trailhead (so alice, toxaway, Farley, pettit). That was a two night trip for us (6 year old). You could always make it a longer loop by going to Imogene and the other alpine lakes in the area.

Or…this year my now 7 year old and I went to 4th of july trailhead (just about directly across the freeway from pettit lake) and did this trip -> http://www.backpacker.com/destinations/hikes/991309

White clouds are absolutely beautiful…if not better than the sawtooths too…

Awesome to see other fellow Idahoans on the forum. I'm an avid hiker of the Sawtooth Mountains as well. Feel free to join the 'Sawtooth Mountains' page on Facebook. I created/manage that page with trip pics as I get them. (Not very many this year due to a new job, but hope to add another admin or two to add pics as well)
