They are being deprecated for safety reasons. Might be time to update.

Crap! I really like the lantern, it puts out more light than any of the others. Oh well…

Thanks for letting me know. I won't drive around to every SG store looking for them!

Anyone make an adapter?

Yep, but it weighs a ton. Has to, to get the compression force on the seal.

Any idea where I can find it? I only use this lantern for more of a camping trip and weight isn't as big of a deal.

I think I may have posted this all wrong. I was refering to these canisters:

http://www.campingaz.com/uk/p-22997-cv-470-plus.aspx

I guess the proper name is Campinggaz. I'll change the heading.

And I'm looking for an adapter that will let me use the lantern that uses those canisters to allow it to use the threaded canisters.

Thanks Roger, sorry for the confusion.

REI has not had Campinggaz canisters for quite some time. Everything is the 'standard' threaded cartridges.

Hi Larry

OK, what you wanted was the Markhill adapter for Campingaz canisters. Not light but quite effective. However, as far as I can see, it is no longer in production. Painful.

Alternatives? I have not found any so far.

Sorry

Thanks Rodger, I appreciate the effort. I think I have enough partial canisters to get through my camping trip, and I borrowed my bothers little lantern that uses the screw top canisters. I'll probably just have to break down and buy the same lantern as my brothers. It is a lot lighter. :^)

Thanks again. If anyone knows of anywhere selling the canisters let me know. Thanks.

Try calling Sport Chalet. I've seen them in Vacaville in the past 6 months.

The Markhill adapters are still made, they are marketed under the Edelrid name now.

Sport Chalet should have them.

If you ever swing down to So Cal, I may have 2-3 CV270's packed away you can have. Shipping is cost prohibitive.

Correct me if I am wrong, but that adapter looks like it lets you use the Camping Gaz canisters on appliances that use the screw canisters
You are correct.

I am looking for the opposite
Umm, to the best of my knowledge, what you are looking for does not exist. If you have a Campingaz lantern, you can only use Campingaz canisters.

The store in Vacaville no longer has any. They had them listed on the sign with a great price, but they didn't have any. My guess is that they are no longer being imported. Guess I will have to buy a new lantern. :^(
