Seeking trekking poles with small grips – for small women's hands. They also need to be adjustable, at least covering the range between 105cm and 130cm, so that I can both hike with them, and use them to hold up my tent.

I've been using the REI Traverse Junior poles. The price (and the weight) are right. The grips are a little TOO small, but I just add some bicycle handlebar tape to pad them out. The problem with my REI Juniors is that they do not realistically extend long enough to support my tent. So back to Square One.

Here are a couple that I tried that fit my hands and that met my other criteria. They are a little heavy:

Black Diamond Trail Shock – women's
Leki Jannu – women's

Any others I should check out?

The ones with my very favorite grips are the Black Diamond Ultra Distance poles. But those are not adjustable.

You should also check out Locus Gear CP3s. The grips are small. Excellent adjustable flip-lock carbon fiber poles

For reducing weight in the Black Diamond line, I would look at the models WITHOUT the spring loaded "shock absorber" feature. They make women's versions of the standard models, too.

Also, I'm not really sure why the grip size matters that much. With the hand properly inserted up through the straps, you should barely be gripping the pole in the fingers with the majority of the support coming from the wrist in the strap. I use the Black Diamond Ergo Cork model that are super comfortable with angled cork grips. If I ever wear them out, I'll buy another pair.

The size concerns you have may be because of the rubber grips. Try the contoured cork grips and see how you like them.

Get a 10-20cm carbon fiber extender for your REI junior poles and continue using them.

Great ideas. Keep them coming.

REI carries the Distance FL poles, so I'll check them out on my next visit.

And a carbon fiber extension? Never thought of that. Where do I get something like that?

+1 By far the best lightweight poles I've ever used.
