I've been wanting to hike in the Pecos Wilderness for a few years now. But every year it seems something comes up (forest fire, new job, injury, etc).
So I think this fall I will finally hike the Pecos, probably in late September or early October, for 4-5 days. I'm expecting cold nights and maybe some snow, hoping to see some good fall color.
Has any one been out there since the Jaroso fire of 2013? I was able to find this burn map, but not much else:
The main destination I currently have in mind is the Truchas Lakes area.
