Edit: Got the info I needed, thanks all.

Folks,

Just picked a WM Caribou. I had read on the WM's site
that it has box stitched construction. Upon inspection I can
see its box walled going across the bag and stitched going down
with two potential cold spots running down the seams.

Has this been an issue for anyone?

Cheers,

Stephen

Caribou MF?

I have always thought this bag was the ace in the hole for those who want something a little wider and still very light. Overall I've never noticed the bag to have cold spots, but then again, I have never owned a bag at this temp range with vertical baffles either. I always sleep with some long underwear on. When it gets cold I sleep in my warm layer, standard protocol. If you need a bag that's roomy, comfy, packs down small and as close to 1lb as you can get at this temp rating, you've found it. I have nothing but great things to say about this bag, and I'd likely replace it with the same bag if I ever need a new one.

Hi Adam,

Thanks for the reply.

It is indeed the MF one.

Looking at the bag again the vertical seams are for down control.

I've had this bag for 12 years or so. Washed a couple times. I use it here in the Sierra and has been to AK and WY, down to around 28F there about. When it gets into the upper 20's, at times it starts to feel cool, but I can still sleep. It was fine a few years ago for a early Spring trip, 24F that night. I did have to drape my coat over my chest and was fine. I also use a silk liner, so that helps. It's been in my shelter in the rain and snow, getting me thru my trips. It got rained on the first night I used it on a motorcycle trip, water just puddled up on it.
