How long does the stuff last? I have a can that's been in the garage for years, maybe nine. Think I can use it for an upcoming trip?

(Bought it before I went and had kids. And alcohol has been provided by others on all my more recent trips so far.)

should be fine if in a sound sealed container.

I once had some which I found stored for years an unlined aluminium bottle, which had corroded the bottle but the fuel was still usable if a little cloudy.

Should be fine. The ethanol and poisoning agents (such as methanol) are stable in high concentrations (in beer and wine ethanol goes to vinegar biologically, but high concentrations prevent that).

If poorly sealed, it could have absorbed water from the atmosphere. That would reduce its heat content a bit, but probably too little to notice or measure.
