Forgive the newbie question. New to stoves that is.

In my brief studies on my new alcohol stove, it appears Klean-Strip S-L-X denatured alcohol is the go-to fuel.

I was just at REI (so conveniently located 1 km from home) and picked up a liter of Crown brand Alcohol Stove Fuel (Clean-burning fuel for marine and other alcohol-burning stoves)

Since neither of them list the percentage ethanol vs other stuff, I'm not sure if there's a way (other than relying on stove and fuel geeks to personally assess) to evaluate. I kind of figure that if REI is selling it for this purpose it must be a reasonable choice. Same price as the local hardware store's Klean-Strip.

Advice? Is Crown brand OK too?

Thanks, Amy

I think I figured out how to look up the data sheets and compare them, thanks to your pointer. Amy

Klean-Strip S-L-X is used by many (including me) but some balk at the methanol content. Klean-Strip Green has much less methanol- it's mostly ethanol, with less of a fraction of adulterants.

FYI
