I am heading to the Winds the end of August through September 1 (6 days). I am tentatively planning to hike out and over Bonneville Pass down to the Fremont trail and connect with Scab Creek trail to exit Scab Creek trailhead.

Does anyone have any experience traversing Bonneville pass and/or linking up with the aforementioned trails?

Photos and other input would be appreciated.

If by Bonneville Pass you mean the pass between Bonneville & Raid peaks, yes, we did it a couple days ago & it goes very well.

You'll be fine. If after crossing the pass you head down to the south end of Bonneville lake you should pick up the trail heading west to the Fremont trail and Highline trail. Heading north east after the pass around the east side of the lake is a bouldering bugger but a beautiful short cut to Middle Fork lake. Going out at Scab creek is going to be very anticlimactic – probably my least favorite entry/exit. Speaking of bugs, what were they like last week? About the worst I have experienced was going in at Scab Creek a number of years ago. We couldn't find relief anywhere – even at 11k it was head nets and rain gear just to get away from them.
