I placed my first order with minimus.biz on Monday to use for meals on a trip that starts next Friday. Looks like it won't get here in time. I should have checked with them before I ordered. These days we're pretty spoiled with getting things pretty quickly and I assumed that would be plenty of time. I checked on the order on Thursday and saw it hadn't shipped so I emailed to ask them if it would ship in time for me to get it before the trip. I was going to cancel the order if they said it wouldn't. They didn't reply but it did ship Thursday afternoon. I figured that's still plenty of time to get from California to Colorado. I usually get things in the mail in 2 days from California. I checked the tracking info this morning and it says it will arrive a week from Monday. 12 days to get from California to Colorado??? Anyway, I'm not blaming them, I should have talked to them before I ordered it. For those that have ordered from them before, is this typical? I'll definitely need to plan way ahead in the future.

What's the shipping method?
FedEx SmartPost. More like SlowPost. :)
something isn't right. Fedex ground to your post office, then your post office to you, shouldn't take anywhere near 12 days. Does the tracking number show that the package was actually picked up by Fedex and is enroute, or just that a shipping request has been received? If it doesn't show that it's been picked up by Fedex, then it still isn't en route.
Yep, it left the City of Industry (second stop) yesterday. Probably by bicycle.
Interesting. Their own shipping page shows Colorado as receiving items within 3-7 business days when using SmartPost, plus an additional 1-3 days processing time, so 3-7 business days once it leaves the warehouse.
My orders have always showed up faster than it says it will, so hopefully. OTOH, the shipping is free for over $20, so I don't complain too much about speed. Usually ;-)
So that's about right then. It wasn't picked up until Thursday afternoon, so F-M-T-W-T-F-M is 7 business days. Plus the 3 days processing time adds up to exactly what they say. I should have done my due diligence before ordering. Oh well, it's not like it's going to go to waste. I'll just have to change up my menu a bit for this trip.
Thanks Doug and Sarah. I hope I get it in time but if not, no big deal. Sarah, do you know of any stores that carry the small packet stuff? The things I really wanted were jelly packets (love PBJ wraps for lunch) and Thai chili sauce packets for Pad Thai. I'm planning to stop at a local cafe tomorrow morning on my way hiking and I'll ask if they would sell me some jelly packets. I'm sure they would give me a few but I'd rather just buy a bunch if I could. It's a small place so maybe they just buy them somewhere instead of having someone like Sysco deliver.
Btw, McDonalds at one point had Sweet Chili dipping sauce for nuggets – if you don't get yours, ask and see if they might slip you a few (I always offer to pay, and never have to). As well, sweet chili sauce carries well. It doesn't need to be chilled!
Looks like it will get here tomorrow so I'll have it in time for some last minute food preparation before the trip.
Excellent! I thought it might get there in time, but didn't want to jinx you by saying so! :-)
Nice!
