Yeah, I know I have asked this before but I was wondering if anyone has come across a hiking style shift that has long sleeves and a long body. Most usually have one of the other. Right now I am still using my bone colored dress shirt because it an 18 36/37 and is the best thing I have found so far. I would say cheap but I can always look for it on sale or used. And it would be nice if provided some sun/bug protection and breathed not like a piece of silnylon.

Howdy, Brett!

Sorry, not answering your question, but going off a slight tangent… I recall you were on a quest for the 'no stink' shirt. Did you find one to your satisfaction? If so, which brand(s)?

Not sure what you consider long, but I really like my Bone Flats shirt from Railriders. Mesh panels from wrist to armpit and on down to hem beyond waist. The bone flats is a button shirt, so when its gets hot, I unbutton all except the top & bottom. Usually works very well together with the mesh panels. It is made of nylon, but check it out if you haven't already. The down side is it's pricy ($84 + shipping).

And, no, skeeters can't bite through (yes, of course the mesh won't stop them, but due the location of the mesh panels, the skeeters don't go there.)

edited to add skeeter info

I have tried the RR Eco-mesh when it was all the rage 6 years ago but found the fabric to not breath that well and the side mesh paneling to not be that durable and they wouldn't come close to taking it back or replacing it.

As for a no-stink shirt. I am sure such a thing with 8% and above silver thread existed but I never got ahold of one. Poly in its forms is out. The really thin wool ones do okay for a period but eventually they do and the $$ is not worth it for their limited durability. One of the best things to do is just to trim down your armpit hair. Actually right now I am still using the same Soffe 50/50 T shirts. They do okay-ish but the price is really good. Just keep rotating and washing when possible. Still looking for some really thin military type cotton ones like they used to make based on the some old findings that the really thin Ts all dry about the same. Kinda gave up on the idea. Ex Officio boxers work well for the stink but the Ts are still a mystery. Eh.

Not what is typically considered a backpacking site, but I get my long torso shirts from Duluth Trading Company. I did a quick check and they have both nylon and polyster options in their long sleeved shirts (along with all their standard cotton shirts).

This one includes built in bug repellent: http://www.duluthtrading.com/store/mens/mens-shirts/button-down-shirts/72508.aspx

Thank you, the nylon one might work. Will have to save up some money to order it and see.
