Ok, I often stealth camp on bike tours, almost always in legal spots, but it pays to keep a low profile when you're carrying all your stuff with you. Now I'm traveling with my girlfriend. What's your favorite option for stealthy shelters that fit two? I am not too concerned with weight in this case, but I would like something relatively good value/inexpensive.

Other than that, I need:

-Fully Enclosed
-Silnylon or Polyester (No Cuben)

Low ceilings, dark colors, small footprints, etc. would be a benefit when I'm trying not to draw attention to myself.

Thanks!

Platinum is light as heck, freestanding, and grey.

Attending to this sentence of your post "I am not too concerned with weight in this case, but I would like something relatively good value/inexpensive"…

Nemo Galaxi is inexpensive ($250 – 20% campsaver – 7% activejunky = $186) and comes in earth brown; low bathtub, though.

Their Losi comes in a Combat SE version that's olive green and blacked-out after dark, available through tacticool sites and occasionally blown out through campsaver or other usual suspects.

MSR Nook or Hubba in the old green on closeout, maybe with some grey tenacious tape applied as splinter camo to the fly?

In my experience stealth camping with a dark grey Integral Designs siltarp, I've found that grey is an excellent color for not attracting attention, while still allowing light in so as not to be gloomy. I second the idea of a Fly Creek Platinum as well. You could also consider something like a Tarptent squall, which is a nice grey, and a bit more affordable than the Fly Creek.

The Terra Nova Solar Photo 2 is a double wall like the Fly Creek Platinum, but comes in dark green, and uses silnylon for the fly, compared to weaker sil/pu fabric. It also has a very cheery solid nylon yellow inner. It's 33 oz. There's a good review at Outdoor Gearlab: http://www.outdoorgearlab.com/Backpacking-Tent-Reviews/Terra-Nova-Solar-Photon-2.

Well, if you had said the opposite about price, I would have highly suggested a zpacks duplex in the newer camo cuben fiber. But I guess that's gonna break the bank?

Yeah, Cuben breaks the bank. if I was gonna get a grey shelter, I'd likely go with a Tarptent Contrail. My girl and I can squeeze in there, as a wide pitch comes out to be about the space of a twin bed. We're young, that doesn't bother us yet. See below:

(That's not us)

I don't mind doom and gloom, though, because we can always just get out of the tent and enjoy some beautiful scenery. On long, rainy mornings, we'll be reading anyways.

These options are great, so keep it coming! I'll keep a running list and probably pick one by the end of the month. Cheers!
