Hell everyone,

I so I recently ordered some three layer waterproof breathable material to make a hardshell jacket and I am not too sure how to seal the seams and make it waterproof. The material has a tricot liner fabric.

I ordered a bit of three layer seam sealing tape from Rockywoods. Apparently you iron this stuff on, but I've only found a couple online instructions and it sounds difficult and complicated.
Anyone have any tricks to make it easier to iron on the seam tape or in general any clear how-to instructions?

Also, is there an easier way than iron-on seam taping. Could the jacket be sealed with auqaseal or something?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks
-Sam

If the seams are "shingled", that is the fold going down so water doesn't flow into the seam, I've put mineral spirits:silicone onto the threads. Maybe wipe off the excess.

If you apply tape, it would have to be to the membrane, not the liner. Can you lift the liner away from the membrane and get to the seam?

Using aquaseal sounds much simpler, like do one section at a time and be patient. Either that or get Seam Grip and some Cotol 40 (McNett's curing accelerator & thinner made just for Seam Grip), and use that. Curing time with Seam Grip + Cotol 40 is supposed to be about 2 hours.
