has anyone had any experience with this shoe? Decided my older pair of new balance trail runners probably wouldn't last all the way through my upcoming John Muir Trail hike. Usually stick with New Balance due to the width of my feet. Like the idea of a mid top to maybe keep a little more crap out of my shoes without using gators.

Says they are "water repellent" which means they might take forever to dry out, also won't be actually waterproof. That crappy in between.
got these today. I think I am going to like them. Comfy out of the box, but they run smaller than other New Balance shoes, I ordered 1/2 size larger than normal. Light weight, approx 12 oz per shoe, with some good sticky tread. The bottom does seem a little soft, not sure how long the tread will last. The shoes are of breathable mesh with a dwr finish. I was able to blow air through them from my mouth with a some resistance. I gave my foot a quick dunk in a bucket and my foot and sock stayed dry.
