This is a totally raw idea, so let me know your thoughts.
I've got a short Nemo Zor (48"x20") and I've been thinking about supplementing it with a CCF pad and/or reflectix to protect it and add comfort (thickness and warmth). I have an XL 1/8" Lawson CCF pad and plenty of reflectix laying around. I know I could just as easily go buy a thicker CCF pad, but why buy something when I can make it myself?
Since my Lawson pad is only 1/8" thick, one layer underneath doesn't seem like it would add much comfort. However, since it's huge, I thought I might fold it over and somehow bind the edges to make a sleeve for my Nemo Zor. The bottom of the sleeve would be long enough to cover the entire bottom of the Nemo Zor, while the top of the sleeve would probably leave some of the Zor exposed…no big deal though. And if I needed a higher R Value or wanted more comfort, I could bring a short piece of reflectix and slide it in there too.
That would protect the bottom of the pad, AND the top, and add comfort. Has anyone tried this? And what might be the best way to bind CCF together along the edges?
