I received an e-mail from GoLite today notifying me of their “Big Score” for the week (valid 7/17 through 7/23), which is the Shangri-La 2 tarp for $149.99 and free shipping. For now it looks like only the “bamboo” (yellow) color is available.

Not really sure why they called it a big score. $149 is the regular price and probably free shipping is common when you spend > $100.
Earlier this year GoLite jacked up the prices of the SL3 and SL5 by $50 each and had to remove their tagline "Save 50% on everything" as the imaginary compare to prices didn't increase. The new "savings" were reduced to 40% and 42% respectively.
Want to bet that the SL2 will be increased to $180 or even higher the day after this "sale" ends?
Golite already did change the standard price of the sl2 to be $180…it was $180 for at least 1-2 months before this "sale".
Hmm, a new tactic by golite? Their Big Score item always used to indicate the regular price as well as the fictional compare-to price. This has no mention of what the SL2 has sold for recently.
