Guys I just got my quilt in today. I immediately tore into the box and laid it out on the living floor to loft. After several times of telling the kids to stay away from daddy's new thing, I crawled in under it.

It feels so thin and so light. Will this really keep me warm? This is my first ever down product and I am new to backpacking. Everyone swears by EE for well priced quality products, everywhere I read, which is why I went this route.

P.S. It came stuffed in two bags, the outer bag then its stuff sack…I was STOKED when I realized the outer bag was its storage bag to allow it to loft when not in use…what a classy touch by EE.

Yes it will keep you warm. To what temp depends on whether you are a warm or cold sleeper, what you will wear while sleeping, and the R-value of your pad, but it should be good for close to, if not at, rated temp.

Pretty much all manufacturers include a storage sack separate from a stuff sack.

Enjoy.

I have an Exped Synmat UL 7. R value is 3.1. My base layer will probably be Terramar Trail head 1.0 top and bottoms. I dont know how they will feel but they are affordable for me and light weight. I also have a Transcendent Down Sweater and short sleeve Outdoor Research SS shirt. The only thing I have not bought because I am not really sure of its use is a wind shirt.

With the pad and the quilt I should be fine for most temps I would encounter though. Thanks for the info.

I recently got the 30* Wide from EE as well. I've only had the chance to use it one night, at about 11500 ft, nighttime temps probably-upper 40's. The quilt itself did amazing. I was on the GG Airbeam, and I got chilled from below. Next time, I think I'm going to take a 3/8" foam pad for underneath. YMMV!
