I think this really may work for my UL kit….

That shelter would trap moisture into the sleeping bag, not good.
Look at some of the shelters from six moons designs or tarptent. Very light but plenty of protection. And have a separate sleeping bag.
8.8 pounds? Did you have to ask? I predict bad condensation and exteme "cabin fever in bad weather— at the least. These crackpot gizmos have been done in various forms for decades. Turn and run!
Too many beers perhaps… but I saw this on my FB feed advertised as "one of the best bivies for the money".
I thought it was a joke at first, but it's a serious thing.
