I want to start packrafting as well as have an inflatable boat when fishing, car camping, rivers, etc.

It would be nice to have my 90 pound lab/dane mix with me sometimes.

Should I get the Explorer and see how she likes it? If she does great! I'll have a boat for me and the dog, or for two people, or me + fishing gear + cooler full of beer.

Or is it complete out of the question that my dog will fit in this thing and should I just say screw the dog (I love her) and buy the Alpaca and then I'll be able to go ultralight?

I would love to hear from you all that have experience with these boats.

Basically, should I get the Explorer 42 or the Alpaca?
And is it fair/logical to bring a dog on one of these boats?

I've attached a photo of the pup. As you can see she's about 46 inches in length.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

I'm thinking I'm just going to get myself an Alpacka pack raft and leave the dog behind or on the shore.

I have the fjord rigged explorer and take my 70 lb female lab out on the mountain lakes fishing with me all the time. I use the thermarest pad in the bottom to protect the floor from her nails and to insulate as well. I wouldn't take her in my denalli as there isn't enough room between my legs for her to sit.

I ended up purchasing an Alpaca for myself. I'd like to see/rent an explorer or denali before I buy one. I may end up buying a much bigger AIRE kayak from a friend for car camping, fishing, etc. I'm sure my pup would be much more comfortable on a bigger boat.
