I made a daypack for my sister (who's back from New Zealand for a week) from left over fabric from the other packs I've made. To save myself time, I used some shoulder straps from a removable Osprey harness I got for free at an REI garage sale.

420D packcloth back/bottom/front (one piece), 70D PU ripstop sides, 30D silnylon drawcord top, spandura for side pockets, daisy chain made from scrap X-Pac VX-21.

Compression strap can be moved higher/lower through the daisy chain or removed. Small internal sleeve and elastic for a foam back pad (so lumps/hard objects don't poke the back) and a small internal pocket.

5x11x24 (didn't bother weighing since it's not for me).

Thanks for looking!

Beautiful, clean, simple design! (& I don't mean simple in a negative way)

Did you use all rectangles for the fabric pieces for ease of construction? I may try it. The movable compression strap is genius!

Thanks Todd! I did indeed use all rectangles for the pack. It was really easy to make especially without all the bells and whistles that I normally put on my packs.
