Looking for 4-5 day trip suggestion in any on the surrounding wilderness areas around Leadville. I have done the Mt of the Holy Cross, so am looking at good loops in any of the surrounding places such as Hunter-Frypan , Sawatch, with the Collegiates really peaking my interest. Usually combine this type trip with a climb of a Fourteener. I have the Fourteener book by Roach. I am sure that I am leaving out other info but any good trip beta this flatlander?
Cheers and thanks in advance!

How early July?

Just an FYI regarding snow…

I just spoke with someone at the Holy Cross Ranger District that heard reports over the weekend that Missouri Lakes (11,500) are frozen and there's still a solid 4-5' of snow in areas up there. I'd venture to guess that the Hunter-Fryingpan is just as snowed in as we are. You may have better luck in the Collegiates. We haven't had many HOT days here and the runoff continues to drag out. Consider too that the next 2 weeks could look completely different. (I feel as though I've been saying that for a while now).

Thank you for the info. Will the Sangres experience as much snowpack? We are heading out the 2nd week of July.
